The Effects of Employment Experience on the Business¡¯s Perception of the People with Disabilities

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of employment experience on the business"s perception of employing the people with disabilities(PWD). The sample consists of 6,286 businesses participating in the "2012 Business Disabled Employee Status Study" of the Korea Disabled Employment Public Corporation. In terms of research methods, descriptive analysis, ¥ö2 tests, analysis of variance(ANOVA) and multiple regression were conducted to examine the effects on the business¡¯s perception. The main results of analysis are as follows; business employing the PWD evaluated the PWD¡¯s performance, group work, and employment effects significantly more positively than the business without the experience of employing the PWD. The business used to employing the PWD also demonstrated more positive perception than the business without the experience of the PWD in the two domains, including work performance and group work, but no employment effects. The main findings of this study support the findings of previous empirical studies which report the positive effects of employing the PWD on the business¡¯s perception. According to the result of this study, some practical implications to improve business"s perception on the PWD are suggested.
